Moonrise
By day tick the hours of
shunning, running
from
the light-
the fight to survive.
To climb,
soaring,
destiny roaring
against fierce resolve.
The hunt..
clawing, pawing
for the day’s
morsel-
a crumb to thumb
the nose at blatant
opulence.
Sun falls burning,
secreting the yearning
into the heart of the
Earth.
She welcomes you
to nest,
a rest
so welcome.
You bask in
the glow of
her benevolent grace,
the iridescent face
of knowing,
glowing,
unabashed mutual adoration.
