After a near miss with a potential hurricane and, instead getting some much needed rain, a long holiday weekend is welcome. We are still having sporadic rains and another front is moving in; so I thought a sunny Sunday morning called for an outing.
Please enjoy this great ballad by two of my favorite legendary folk musicians and take a walk with me….
I recently discovered a great park which has waterways perfect for canoeing and kayaking that span the area of several miles and city blocks. Each time I go I meet new feathered and finned friends alike. These are the moments that bring peace to my soul.
I’d like to introduce you to my newest acquaintances!
These characters are familiar with people and have no fear if they think for one moment there is a morsel to be had by hanging around.
And….
How fun to watch my reptile friends playing follow the leader across the lake….
I was so hoping the Anhinga would catch a fish, but it was just browsing the lake….
And these fine fellows were soaking up the sun in their favorite places….
Then on the wing
were flutter and sting….
and
Our red bellied friend with no song to sing.
Be careful dear dragon, lest you fall prey…
ensnared in her ladyship’s web today.
As Summer’s blooms begin to fade….
and falling, Winter’s bed is made
by Autumn’s crimson touch.
I hope you all have a safe, relaxing and rejuvenating holiday weekend and your only labor be one of Love.
