The Sentry/Poetry

The Sentry   Stoic, you stand against the wind, the tide, the storm, the sailor’s friend. In faith each night the lamp was lit, the fire, the hope to avoid Jones’ pit. Two hundred and three, the steps each way, ascend, descend the Keeper’s day. Dreaded vampire, mosquito that feasts on skin, the blood of innocent beasts. Crane it saved, and happy he, did write, the tale in ink of thee. Majestic, you tower to the sky, to shine, to sing as the seabirds fly.
