Good Morning!
Well, we are traveling at present, but I did want to pop in and share a bit of something today. Let’s see….

This shot was taken just after we checked into our cabin up at Savegre Mountain Lodge last January. It was an ahhhmazing 5 days in which we experienced balmy, sunny days and chilly nights. We spent most of our time hiking the waterfall and nature trails, having wonderful buffet meals in the dining room and an entire morning on my first ever birding tour, on the hunt for the elusive Resplendent Quetzal. I am happy to report they showed up for their avocado snacks high in the trees and we got some really good photos. That was the beginning of my true love affair with the birds of Costa Rica and my obsession with photographing them. This is a truly magnificent place to vacation if you are an outdoors kind of person. We couldn’t make ourselves stay in! Besides hiking, there is horseback riding, camping, bird tours, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and more. I’ll be back with more on this trip later. Hope you are all having beautiful sights in your world today! Okay, one more shot before I go..

For more info, visit their website at http://www.savegrehotel.com. It is in the area known as Savegre San Gerardo de Dota And is one of the highest elevations in the country. We also did a tour of the ancient ruins near Turialba Volcano on the way there. Another must see. Bye for now!
An amazing and magical view; a true source of inspiration I imagine..

One of the most beautiful parts of Costa Rica – somewhat unexpected because most people think of humid rain forest or tropical beaches when they picture a visit to the country. If you visit be sure to bring a jacket and sweater – it can dip into the 40s at night due to the high altitude.

Yes, we had some super chilly nights at Savegre Lodge. Mid 40’s. we needed a little heater! But oh so perfect during the days. That same visit there was snow on Turrialba. We love the mountains. Thanks for stopping by!
