ETHEREAL

 

A glance, like breath on the air

as the heart stirs…

 

 

Brief verbal interludes,

awkwardly enticing words..

 

 

Closer, by accident or design

 

 

Furtive look, desires entwine

 

 

Too close!

I fear….

 

 

Come closer,

can you hear

the gentle flutter,

inaudible utter

 

 

I want you…

No.

 

 

Then I shall go!

Away, away…

unless you say,

“Stay, please…stay“

 

 

Where is the wind,

my breath,

my mind,

like death

stops the beating of my heart.

 

 

That death should be so soft,

as my soul is born aloft

I stubbornly dispel

the looming threat of hell.

Forbidden?

 

 

For hell is heaven

and heaven be

our bodies mingled

in ecstasy!

 

 

My name, I do not know;

will you say it

soft and low?

 

 

We ne’er may meet again

this way…

Kiss me quick..

 

 

and go!!
