Beyond the facade of shadow,
intricately woven to camouflage-
tender, vulnerable and bright,
soul’s desire, the hope and fire
of longing, slowly dying.
mournfully lying
scattered, shattered,
the shards of dreams
unrealized.

Great poetry. In India, many poets have written about the moon and we sing it in our songs, but I have yet to write a poem on it. Well, I have made note of it and this stays in my pending list. Someday when I am alone, when the thoughts have grown, my worries have flown, I will write a poem on the moon of my own. I guess I’m already rhyming. This is the magic of your poetry. 🙂

I’m sorry that you have so much inspiration for this, but I love how you captured the feeling in words.

Ahhh thanks Dan, but surely you know all poets are tortured souls in one way or another. Much like a bride’s wedding day trove. “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”….something from a past life? 🤔

“Tortured souls” Maybe but you have a way of gathering those thoughts and feelings and putting it into beautiful words.

Some say pain is beauty. I don’t think I would be quite conplete without it. I’m not truly tortured though, not anymore anyway. But I have a long Memory. It really makes me glad you like my poems. Every time I express something like this it becomes a part of something “out there” and no longer buried. And maybe it will resonate for someone else.

That’s one of the things I love about poetry.

I also have a lot of empathy so feel what my loved ones feel, go through. Not every piece is my own personal pain. Don’t you think it is amazing the way we are all so different in our response to life’s experiences and yet, here we are, all with a common bond and understanding of one another? I am so glad we all met!
