What kind of bird is that? Is it drying off like the condors or just kinda hanging out like that. Either way, what a unique shot!

It is an Anhinga. Yes, it is drying itself. The Cation birds dry off after eating and cleaning so the food doesn’t rot in their wings and talons I beleive. The Anhunga is a swimming bird that fishes underwater, like a duck, and tis is how they dry off fter being in the water. When they swim with their neck above water it looks like a snake!

They sound like smart birds. I would also clean myself off after eating as to avoid rotting food in my wings! ๐
