They are pretty, and such a wonderful part of nature…but I’m scared to death of them! It’s a long story, but I bought my now ex-wife a “love bird” one year for Valentine’s Day.
As I brought the “brute” home and was transferring it to the cage, it got lose on me and went dive-bombing in the living room! (stop laughing!!)
I ran for the bedroom and flung the door shut behind me leaving my wife out there to fend for herself. She coaxed the vulture off the curtain rod with a broom stick and got it into the cage.
She gave me the “all clear” when the drama was over…WHEW!

π So sorry about the harrowing experience but surely an affirmation that animals belong in their natural environment. What bird would “love” being in a cage really? Once you have seen wild parakeets. Parrots and MaCaws flying free against a perfect blue sky you cannot imagine them as pets ever again…
