“Quack, quack, come with me, and I’ll lead you out into the great world, and present you…” said the Mother duck in Hans Christian Anderson’s uplifting tale.
That story was always a favorite of mine and I had such a soft spot for the ugly duckling, being a rather ordinary child myself. I always imagined someday I would grow into that beautiful swan; but it would take years for me to realize there is a beautiful swan residing within all of us.
On this afternoon I did not spot many swans, but the ducks and pigeons were everywhere! The ducklings were so adorable.
I believe they were hoping for a nibble or crumb but we weren’t prepared for that.

They didn’t seem to mind the heat and there were others besides the ducklings.
Looking for a tasty flying morsel to snatch from the wind.
The Lakes of LSU are lined with magnificent homes.
Worshiping the Sun…
And just “hanging out”.
Slowly does it every time! (said the tortoise to the hare)
