Evening Trumpet

As I strolled through the yard this evening, checking the garden, gathering figs and watching the sun sink low, my happy little trumpets were sounding their evening call to end the day. When I took a second look, I noticed one particular pair had presented a lovely gift-the bean pod! It was the first time I had seen one, even though we have had trumpet vine present in past yards in faraway places…

Opportunists that they are, they are draped across the azaleas, climbing the fence and mingling with the cucumbers. They are not shy or snobbish.

With happy faces..

They welcome visitors..

And always, they brighten my soul…
